Disney African American Mom Blogger Mixer Event
The surprise that I was referring to in this post was the fact I was chosen to attend the African American Mom Blogger Mixer at Walt Disney World (WDW)! Many, many thank-yous to Maria Bailey of BSM Media, Laura Spencer, Leanne Jakubowksi and so many others at WDW for making this event such a phenomenal experience. From start to finish, it was apparent that every detail that went into making this past weekend as magical as possible was considered. I have been to WDW quite a few times, but going to the blogger mixer was probably the first time I've actually experienced Disney as it should be done.
My take away from this experience is, if you are going to do Disney, do it right. I'm a frugal Mama and always vacation on a budget. If you are like me, there absolute nothing wrong with that. However, don't miss out on an experience of a lifetime by trying to piece together your trip when you get there. Through sites like Disney Vacations and Disney Moms Panel you are able to create a very affordable Disney vacation. One of the panelist is a Dad, so Dads and Moms can take advantage of his knowledge of Disney through a father's perspective.
Mom Blogger mixer at Disney was truly a whirlwind of activities. In short, our event comprised of delectable fine dining, adventuresome rides, spectacular shows and surprise backstage passes. I met some of the most incredible mom bloggers and gleaned quite abit of knowledge from their bloggy expertise. We were an eclectic group of Mamas; coming from a wide range of blog topics and subject matters. This made our time together even more interesting and special. I am truly impressed and proud of my fellow Mama-sista bloggers. We had some great laughs, enlightening discussions, sharing & bonding and definitely getting spicy and acting all out crazaaay! Bawhaaaa... Thank you Maria, Laura and Leanne for letting us be real, raw and honest. Around these ladies you can come with your head scarf on, with your new growth showing and looking all ashy and they don't mind one bit!
In closing, I would be very neglectful if I didn't say that Disney has some great green initiatives in place. I want to reserve a whole post about what they are doing.
Check out these amazing bloggers and make some new friends!

Welcome back! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. I agree with your comments, do Disney right! I attended the Tom Joyner Family Reunion there a couple of years ago and we had a blast, treated very well and stayed at one of the nicer resorts.
That looks WAY fun! Don't feel camera shy. We are all mothers here. Congrats on getting to go and do and meet like that. Wonderful!

Hey Ana!
Girl, you looked fabulous in Orlando last weekend-- no need to be camera shy. Yes, it was a great time. I'm so glad we had the chance to connect and hang out. I look forward to staying in touch.
Readers-- Quiskaeya is such a doll in person (sweet and funny).
