Beautiful Noise
Today, on the way home in the car Tarr was fussing. I made several different suggestions to Tiger of activities to do to keep the toddler occupied. Despite all of Tiger's effort nothing was working and Tarr seemed to get more agitated.
Finally, I suggested to Tiger to sing a song to his little brother in hopes this might calm down the toddler. Tiger starts singing a made-up song that included all of his favorite superheros. The more he got into the song the louder he became. The louder he became the more off-key he grew. The content of the song made no sense and eventually, I had to wave my hand in frantic disperation for him to stop.
Me: Tiger what in the world are you doing???
Tiger: I'm singng a song, Mom, like you asked me to do.
Me: That wasn't a song. That was a bunch of noise. How in the world do you expect THAT craziness to calm down your brother??
Tiger: Well it must have been beautiful noise to him, because Tarr fell asleep.
I looked in the rearview mirror and sure enough, Tarr was peacefully sleeping. I digress - to some it's just plain 'ole noise and to others it's beautiful noise.

Tiger is sooo cute!! Well, he did make his brother sleep!!
What a great lesson. One person's noise is another's music!
Awww....that is so sweet!
So right. It's like the old saying that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I guess in this case it applies to noise too.
It was really good to see you. Missed you around Fruitful Vine but I'm glad that you were able to take a break. I take one every month, schedule posts to run during my absence and go on just to check for commenters and respond to them.
The hubby and I have been so busy with ministry that my regular blog reading has taken a back seat. I'm hoping to catch up soon. Google reader is bulging with unread posts.
God bless you too!
Gotta love it!
