Kids. The Best "Get Free" Card There Is!
I'm a frugal Mama. At times I'll wait to buy something just because I know a sale is around the corner. I've pretty much gotten it down to a science when to shop at my favourite stores because I've figured out how they role out their specials. BOGO free deals are my speciality and I've figured out how to get them often! ha! Take note y'all...
KIDS are a good way to get some free stuff. lol
Wal-mart:
I went to Wally World last month during the holiday season and they were giving away $5 gift cards. Shoppers were notified at check out that they had won a card by a message on their receipt. Of course, when my turn came to check out I was hoping I would see "You have been selected to receive a $5 gift card!" on my receipt. Too bad, so sad! I did not receive this message.
While I loaded my trolley with my purchases Lil Man asked the cashier "How come my Mommy didn't win?" A store manager happened to be walking by and over heard him and pulled out a gift card and handed it to Lil Man. "Hope this makes you feel better!" and then walked away.
TGIFridays:
Lil Man and his dad had finished eating their meal and a waiter asked them about desert. Lil Man's dad explained that they were done.
Lil Man said, "I'm not full. I'll take a desert." His dad said he have Lil Man "the eye" that said keep your mouth shut boy! The waiter looked at his dad for approval and he okayed the order. She came back with his desert and the bill. After Lil Man finished his dessert his dad noticed she had forgotten to put the dessert on the bill. When the waiter came by he informed her of the error and she told him that it wasn't an error and gave them a get-a-free dessert card for the next time they came back.
Grocery Store:
Any time I take the kids to the grocery store the bakery gives them free goodies. They know my kids so well if I don't bring them they darn near send me home to get them. The folks at the bakery don't even talk to me. They talk to my kids. One time I thought I could pretend that my kids were with me so I could swindle a few goodies for myself. I told one of the bakery chefs my kids were in a trolley on the other end of the store with the Hubster. I was hoping they'd give me something. Ha! It didn't work. The chef told me when my kids come by they'll give MY KIDs the treat and not me. Sheesh...

Kids not only have the nickname "tax deduction" we can now add "get it free" to the list! ;)
When you have kids as cute as yours... of course people are throwing free stuff at them! ;)
I remember my mom used to use my names for raffles because she said my name would always get pulled instead of hers.
Next time I need to go to the bakery for my cookie fix, I'll let you know so you can send the lil men my way. LOL
