Zip + Zilch + Zippo + Nada + None =
...The sum of the amount of sleep I got last night. Since Saturday Lil Man has been dealing with the flu. It probably has to do with all the swimming at camp, plus the running in and out of the rain. It's been raining a lot down our way. Lil One started teething on Saturday and has been running a low grade fever all week. I guess Lil One's poor immune system couldn't fight the flu anymore so yesterday he caught the cold. His very first cold.
I guess I should have imagined that when he finally did get sick it would be a doozy. He has been so miserable and his poor little body has been burning up. He can't lay flat on his back because then he can't breathe. He doesn't want to be put down and if I'm lucky enough to get him to sleep if I even *sign* he jolts back awake and starts wailing. I know he is just as uncomfortable as he can possibly be.
Surprisingly, he still wants to nurse. I have to nurse him in an upright sitting position so he doesn't choke. He's a determine little guy. While I was nursing him he started sputtering and snorting. I tried to pull him away from my breast and he latched on like he was holding on for dear life. And here I was trying to pull him away to save his dear life. It was the ultimate battle of wills and I lost. Eventually, he snorted hard enough and cleared one of his nostrils. I do have a dr. appt for him this afternoon to make sure he doesn't have an ear infection or any other infection.
This morning I've started in with the sniffles, sneezing and coughing. My body aches something awful. Oh joy. I was browsing Dr. Google to find out what over the counter medications I can take. I've stopped taking my allergy meds since my season is mostly over. I came across this article Cold and Allergy Remedies Compatible with Breastfeeding on Kellymom.com. I just love her site because she always has good info for breastfeeding Mamas. Anyway, I thought this info was worth a share.

Oh Mama! Sorry to hear about all the nasty stuff floating around there at home! I hope you will all be over it soon. Until then, hang in there... when it rains, it pours!
:( Hope EVERYONE feel's better soon. I had a heck of a night too, I was up on the toilet all night (TMI) and then had a nice little 4 year old girl who thought that from 9pm - 11pm it would be great to throw a tantrum because she didn't want to go to bed.
UGH! Get better!
Hi, Have you ever thought of chiropractic care for you and your little ones. I don't know exactly where you are but I do know a very good family chiropractor as well as a great pediatric holitic MD (she is an MD who specializes in natural care). Feel free to email me if you would like more info.
Until then, take care of yourself and feel better soon.
Oh man, when baby isn't happy and healthy neither is mama! Here's hoping for a better tonight. Hang in there Ana!
I have the flu too. I stayed home from work today. I don't think there is anything worse than being 9 months pregnant with the flu, well actually there is being a baby with his first cold. Poor boo boo. Hope we all get better.
Oh no! It's so hard when our babies are sick... I swear I get tears in my eyes when my little boy cries from being sick or uncomfortable. I Just wish I could take it away.
My little guy tends to nurse more than ever when he's sick... it's the ultimate comfort I suppose. Fine by me... allows me to eat that brownie I've been eyeing.. *tee hee
I LOVE Kellymom.com too. I go there for most of my breastfeeding questions.
Ugh. The only thing worse than taking care of a sick child is trying to do it when you are sick. GET BETTER SOON!
Oh you poor little thing! I hope you and the little fella are feeling better soon. It just stinks when they are sick!

Oh man! take care of yourselves, get some rest and hope everyone is better soon!
Oh poor baby, hope he doesn't have an ear infection or anything else. Big hugs from me.
Aww poor little guy (and poor Mama). I hope he's feeling better soon.
Being sick is NOT fun! This is my way of saying it stinks. :(
Everyone has something?!
When you speak of Lil One, I remember my daughter with RSV and the all nighters with medicine and such.
If you co-sleep, prop some towels between the mattress and box spring. This will help with drainage. Otherwise, if it's very bad, use the infant car seat in the house.
Also, I used saline when she was months old and she hated it, but it made her sneeze and clear out those nasal passages. Gosh, I remember this stuff like it was yesterday.
I everyone is feeling better soon and you get some sleep.
Oh dear. I hope your kids are doing better now. It's do hard to have a sick kid at home. And I hope you are not sick with flu...Hope the dr appt went well and with favorable results. {{hugs}}
