Lil Man's Graduation

Here it is folks, raw and uncensored, the cutest graduating class of 2008! It was so much fun watching our kids perform. I arrived slightly late due to some heavy traffic, hence why all my shots are at a side angle. I had the worse seating in the place.

(In the first pic Lil Man was receiving his Kindergarten certificate)
He also received 2 awards. One for reading the most books during the year (224 books) and another for being top math kid in his class. The award around his neck in the 2nd pic is for reading.

Look at Lil Man, he looks so bored. I asked him after the program was over why he looked so bored and he responded "I've practiced these songs a million times Mom. Couldn't we have sung some new ones." Crazy kid - he must takes after his Mama!

(Does my son think he's lounging on the sandy beaches of Aruba?? dead)

Check out my young baller in the striped black/white dress shirt and tie in the video. Homie was singing at the top of his lungs. In one of the songs he was so into it he started dancing and accidentally hit the girl to the left him. Oh. oh. oh. And my man slid up to me after the program talking about "Check out my tie and shoes. They match. And I got a razor (cell phone) in my pocket and $50!" And nodded his head up and down with his head tilted sideways. You know I had to come back at him with a "Sookie-sookie now!"

His family is from Trinidad. They are wealthy business owners who do a bit of import/export between Florida and the Caribbean. As an only child he gets EVERYTHING he wants. I can't imagine giving a 6 yo a razor cell phone. Lil Man thinks he's the coolest kid because of all his hip stuff and I've had to strongly discourage his impulse to want everything this little boy has.

See the girl on the right? Ms Thang came with her face seriously made up. It's hard to see in this picture, but trust me, my girl had bright red lips, rosy cheeks and eye shadow to match. You've gotta wonder what some parents are thinking when they allow their kids to leave the house that way.

You must be so proud!! 224 books? Way to go!!

I don't know what has gotten in to some parents these days, it's a shame!! Cell phone and money at a kindergarten graduation?? Give me a brake! And make-up that you can see as bright as hers, so sad :-(
Have you ever seen that show on MTV, My Sweet Sixteen? It makes me sick to my stomach. Then we wonder what our world is coming too?

Love the pics, they are so cute.

Why would you give a 6 yr old a cell and $50??? That is just crazy. Your right Lisa that is just setting them up for that show. Sad, sad day for the kids.

Congrats Lil Man! You know you had me cracking up with the stories about his classmates. My father has enjoyed my son's various promotions and graduations over the years because the other kids are so entertaining to observe, usually for the wrong reasons!

God bless us all!
