Flaunt It Friday: Summer
TGIF y'all! Being a SAHM you would think I wouldn't care if it was Friday or Monday. I'm at home all the time, right? Wrong. Whoever came up with the definition of Mamas who don't work in the professional setting as stay-at-home, definately got it twisted. I'm OUT way more than I'm in. This Mama needs her Fridays just like the rest of the Mamas that work outside the home.
I love this weeksFlaunt It Fridays because it's about one of my favorite times of the year - summer! FYI - feel free to join into the fun by heading over to TheMommyKelly's site to play.
Here we are entering into the beginning phase of summer. Honestly, the best way to describe my sentiments about summer is that I have a love/hate relationship with it. I abhor the heat and sticky-icky temperatures so high you can almost cut a knife in the thick humidity. Where do all the flies come from??? Sorry for the pun - but these creatures run rampant like Lord of the Flies!
So you ask if summer is all that bad, how could I possibly love it. I love bathing in the warm waters of the Atlantic sea and feeling the salty breezes on my cheek. I love the fruits and veggies that are cultivated in this season. Mangoes, pineapples, watermelons and berries are just a few delectable fruits that I look forward to. Life just seems to take on an island tempo as folks seem to stroll instead of walk and "lime" (hang out) instead of rushing about.
Spring breakers and snowbirds have all left to escape the squelching heat and restaurants are more apt to let you lounge at their tables and not rush you to purchase. I feel loved by this unfriendly area of the country as every business seems to be vying for my business. Awwwww the amazing deals that are know only to summer shopping. If I listen hard enough I might even be lucky to hear a whisper of "hello" escape the tight lips of my fellow Floridians. Awwwwwwwww life is great in Florida!

I'm a fall girl, but I know you have to heat up before you can cool down! I'd love to go to the ocean! You lucky girl!
I can't wait for some heat over here, the rain is just about killing me this year.
Beautiful post, Ana. You are so right about Florida in Summer. I had lots of occasions as a kid to spend my summers in Southern Florida and the tempo is much calmer and the beaches less crowded. Ah.... the beaches. So missing the beaches....
I hope that your summer will be filled with deliciously wonderful fruits and the peace that you so love.
Happy Weekend!
Cool! I didn't know you had an online store. Awesome!
