5 Months Already!

I've decided to start chronicling each month of Lil One's 1st year because it's going by too dang fast! Ugh, I hardly feel like I have a baby anymore. One of these days I'll turn around for just one moment and when I turn back he'll be heading off to college. Ack! So what's up with our Lil One you ask?

Lil One's Shrunking My Mommy!
Last week I was at Walgreen's with Lil Man and Lil One. An elderly lady started talking with Lil Man. She commented on how big both kids are and Lil Man replies, "Thank you ma'am and I think Lil One is shrunking my Mom. She's getting shorter everyday and Lil One is getting bigger everyday." The nerve! Lil One really is getting quite big. Ask my back, it'll tell you so. Hence the crook in my back. He's over 15lbs now. He's begining to sit with assistance. He continues to push himself when he's laying on his belly so maybe he'll be an early crawler.

Squeals & snorts! Is that a piggy in the blanket?
As I reported last month, this little guy is quite a vocal little guy. His babbling and cooing has recently turned into squealing! And he's getting the most enjoyment out of squealing in the middle of the night. Three nights in a row I was awaken to the squealing and giggles of Lil One. It was the strangest thing! He wasn't fussing, hungry, sick - no, he just had the case of squeals. Each time his squealing, playing and giggling lasted for about 20 mins until he wore himself out. For some reason he'll occasionally snort when I feed him and did so a few times when I was feeding him. I'm thinking I gave birth to a little piggy.

That book's not for eating, it's for reading!
He has a fascination with books! He loves for one of us to read to him. He loves looking at the pictures and he loves slobbering all over them!

If you laugh too hard you'll float up to the ceiling.
Lil One has the most infectious laugh! I'm telling you when this baby gets to laughing you have to join in because it's so cute. Sometimes when he's laughing he'll roll over and his jelly belly will wiggle and I can just imagine him floating up to the ceiling. Do you remember that scene in Mary Poppins?

I see dead people!
Sometimes I seriously wonder what my baby dreams of when he sleeps. A few times a month he'll wake up screaming. Do babies have nightmares (or daymares)? It scares the living daylights out of me when he does this. I always fear he's hurt himself or fallen. It's not fun at all. I'm going to mention it to his Pedi on his next check up.

So that's what my Lil One has been up too! All that and eating his toes. He's got a toe fetish - no kinkiness here tho, just cuteness. :)

What a cutie, you have! I didn't ask if you wanted workbook, textbook or whatever but a great free curriculum would be Ambleside Online.(amblesideonline.com) It is literature based and the books recommended are online or via your library. We use the suggested books in our homeschool also. You could also do some unit studies. Some freebies are listed at homeschoolmom.com and homeschool share.com also. HTH

It goes fast. I woke up on April 8th (The Boy's birthday) and realized that five YEARS had gone by, in just a blink.

And don't even get me started on my 7 going on 17 daughter.
