A Lost Art
The past few days my allergies have seriously been kicking my tail. Ugh! God must be putting his hand of protection on Lil One. I am amazed that in the 2 months I've been sneezing, coughing etc he hasn't gotten so much as a sniffle. Thank you Jesus.
Anywoo in other news in the past few days I've had some, er, interesting experiences with customer service. Can someone tell me what's up with companies nowadays? I know times are rough for everyone, financially, even companies and such, but must they do away with quality control?!?!? Here are a few recounts of experiences I've had:
XXX Insurance Company:
Rep: Thanks for calling XXX Insurance Company. How can I help you?
Me: Yes I would like to check on the status of xxx claim.
Rep: Ma'mam I'm going home for the day. Please hang up and call back to speak with someone else.
Me: What? I'm not following you. It's 3pm the company doesn't close until 5pm.
Rep: No ma'mam, you misunderstood. I'm going home because my shift is over. So you need to call back and get someone else.
Me: Okaaaaay. Then why did you pick up the phone? You should have let the call go to someone else? Can you transfer me to another rep?
The rep hung up on me after that.

XXX Store:
My friend and I were standing in line so she could return an items. Her turn came up. She put her clothes on the counter and this is what happened...
My friend: Hi Tracy (the rep was wearing a name tag)! I would like to return these outfits.
The rep completely ignored my friend and started talking to her co-worker as if she didn't hear my friend. She then started straightening up the counter.
My friend: Excuse me, but I asked to return these items.
The rep still ignored her and put a "closed" board on top of her register. Umm something ain't right here, ya'll! Complete, bold-faced disregard for the customer? Help me now, I seriously don't get it!

I would have gotten that reps name and ID number. It would have been on and poppin! da heck you answering the phone if your shift is over for! Humph!
The second scenario--I am done.
please tell me these are hypothetical situations....ISH like this never happens to me. I must have the look of EVILness all over my face.
Why didn't you start throwing ISH off her counter or something? Geez, I hate customer reps that are rude. got my pressure up over here! LOL
*waving to ana* hey girl....you know i'm crazy :)
It's like people don't care about their jobs anymore.
Okay, first Ana's post had me laughing and now Tanyetta's rant has me belly laughing. I can't stop! :D
You need to go shopping with Tanyetta she'll show you how it's done!
Seriously, though, the rep from the insurance company is probably recorded and will be docked points for such rude behavior that is if he/she still works there.
The other chump at the counter is angry at the world and your friend addressing her with a name just set her off. So sorry about that!
For me, I would have been like, "Somebody better call the manager pronto!"
Thanks for the laugh I really needed it.
Oh God! Speaking of rudeness! Or am I too harsh? But that's what I thought about that sales lady who completely ignored your friend.
BTW, the first tale cracked me up. Why oh why did he has to pick up the phone?
She sure would have gotten in trouble if that was me. I've been known to ask for managers and have gotten some nice little gift certs for my trouble..nuh-uh! I don't care what the situation is but you don't treat customers that way.
Lol@Tanyetta!
First one - I hear you about the phones. I've been dealing with Sprint's Indian call centers for the past month! NOT happy spending an average of 2 hours on the phone with them at a time. :(
Second - Oh NO she didn't! PLEASE tell me that rep that put the sign up wasn't a "sistah". PLEASE!PLEASE,I'm begging you! LOL
If that had happened to me, I'm not one to avoid a blatant confrontation. She would have not only have had to hear about herself (tanyetta's throwing things from the counter is definitely an option- LOL), but I would have called the manager and cursed him/her out as well.
That's just RIDICULOUS
Rania
ROFL @ Tanyetta! Girl you are killing me over here!!!! I'm not trying to get your pressures up or anything. I just couldn't believe what I'd seen! Crazy ISH, girl!
@ Rania: I won't go there, but yes it was a sistah. I'll leave it at that cause..ummm...er...well you know what I mean so I won't say anymore.
