In our home dust bunnies are referred to as ghost poop. Hubby said in the military they were referred to that way, so he's passed on the reference to us. Our hand held electric vacuum is known as the exterminator.
Hubby will say to Lil Man "Sargent, I think the ghost invaded last night."
Lil Man will reply, "Here, here Captain! I'll get the exterminator and clean up mess."
It's our way to include Lil Man in our home cleaning chores. Furthermore, Lil Man takes quite a bit of pleasure in exterminating ghost poop since he loves to "play" with the exterminator.
Our hand held vac hasn't been working well so we went to Tarjay (Target) to look at some new ones. I got sidetracked, as usual when I go shopping and started looking at other things in the vacuum aisle. Lil Man wandered down to the end of the aisle where the vacuums were.
To my utter embarassment Lil Man exclaimed loudly,"Found the exterminator for the ghost poop, Ma!" He was looking just as proud as he could about his find, with a grin a mile wide. I, on the other hand, was looking for a place to duck and hide.
It crossed my mind to pretend that I didn't know who Lil Man belonged to. If I faked that I didn't hear him, then maybe those weird looks people were giving me might go away. But instead I replied, "Uh yeah, good job finding it."
I quickly took him by the hand and made a beeline out of that area! Kids, ya gotta love their brazen style at just the most inconvenient times.

How funny! Loved the post! We also call Target- Tarjey! Ha! We are so much alike! Ghost poop is hilarious! I'll have to ask my Dad if they ever referred to dust bunnies that way. He went to West Point and was in the military for a few years..... a long time ago though ;)!
